FERC Reporting & Analytics

Queue analytics and FERC compliance reporting for utility organizations.

What is FERC Reporting?

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) requires utilities to track and report on their interconnection queues. GridWonk provides a built-in analytics dashboard that summarizes queue health, screening performance, and deficiency trends -- with prior-period comparison and export capabilities for compliance reporting.

The current implementation builds the analytics snapshot from active application_submissions, scoped to the active utility organization and selected utility. It excludes archived synthetic demo history and loads up to 5,000 submissions for the selected reporting window.

Accessing the Analytics Tab

The analytics view is available in the Utility Workspace under the Analytics tab. It is accessible to users in utility organizations and to consultants with read-level grant access.

Summary Metrics

Four metric cards display at the top of the dashboard:

MetricDescription
Total ApplicationsNumber of applications submitted within the reporting window, with percent change vs. the prior period
ScreenedApplications that reached screened, notice draft, notice sent, or complete status, with completion rate and the number whose counts come from a packet review
Deficiency RatePercentage of applications with at least one deficiency, plus total notices issued

Each card includes a comparison indicator showing how the current window compares to the equivalent prior window.

Time Range Selection

Use the range toggle to adjust the reporting window:

RangeWindow
30DLast 30 days
90DLast 90 days (default)
1YLast 365 days

The prior-period comparison automatically adjusts to match the selected window length.

Status Distribution

A table breaks down application counts by screening status:

  • Pending
  • Queued
  • Screening
  • Screened
  • Notice Draft
  • Notice Sent
  • Resubmitted
  • Complete

Statuses are sorted by count in descending order.

Monthly Trend

A trend table shows submissions per month within the selected window. Use this to identify seasonal patterns.

Recent Applications

The bottom table lists the 25 most recent applications with details:

ColumnDescription
Application #Unique application number
ProjectProject name
StatusCurrent screening status
DeficienciesTotal deficiency count from the latest completed packet review, or the legacy stored count
CriticalNumber of critical deficiencies from the same source
SourcePacket review, Legacy screening, or blank when no review of either kind has completed
Screening HoursTime from submission to screening completion
CreatedSubmission date

Export Options

Two export formats are available:

FormatDescription
Export FERC CSVDownloads a CSV file with all applications in the current window. Includes application number, project name, state, capacity (MW), status, deficiency counts, review source (packet-review, legacy, or none), timestamps, and screening hours.
Export FERC PDFGenerates the PDF on the server from the same organization-scoped analytics snapshot, then returns it for download with summary metrics, status breakdown, and the recent applications list.

Exported filenames include the current date (e.g., ferc-queue-report-2026-02-18.csv).

CSV export cells are encoded so formula-like values from project or application data cannot become spreadsheet formulas when a report is opened in a spreadsheet application.

Refreshing Data

Click the Refresh button to reload the analytics snapshot with the latest data. The dashboard queries application submissions in real time, so refreshing reflects any changes since the page was last loaded.

Data Scope and Access Control

  • Analytics are scoped to the current organization and utility selection.
  • Consultants with granted access see only the projects included in their grant scope.
  • Rate limiting applies (30 requests per minute per user) to prevent excessive load.
